Table of Contents
In November 2022, Google released a significant algorithm update which shocked lots of bloggers, including myself. My website traffic decreased abruptly. The decrease also caused a decrease in my daily AdSense earnings.
That’s when I made the decision to carefully research the update’s details and came up with some key elements that you can remember to improve your Google ranking and avoid being impacted by the algorithm change.
What can the Google algorithm update do to your website?
If your website doesn’t meet Google’s new requirements, its ranking may suffer. The website contents must meet the new update’s high standards for quality and originality.
In November 2022, after the updates, your website ranking could have experienced a sharp decline.
On the other side, a website that Google has never noticed can suddenly start receiving visitors and improve its ranking.
So, there is now some equity in Google Ranking. Every time I performed a keyword search, I saw that the large, established websites consistently appeared in the first three results.
At least some of the smaller websites now have a chance to show up in the top results. Some pages that were previously under-rewarded might perform better in search results as a result of these modifications.
What does Google want from you as a website owner?
This has a pretty straightforward answer. Write the article yourself, plain and simple. Make sure you thoroughly investigate the subject of the article before you begin writing it.
Google always looks for E-A-T in all the content on the website and ranks them accordingly.
So what is E-A-T? It is expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness. If you have these three qualities in your content, then don’t worry about being ranked on Google’s search engine.
Therefore, when you write content for your website:
• You should write clearly and concisely (Expertise)
• To get authority, your website should be linked to other websites, or you need to be someone, like a famous author or YouTuber. (authoritativeness)
• Pages like the “about us” page should be present on your website. Make sure your website has accurate contact information so that visitors may learn more about you and whether they can trust it. Whether your website has a contact page and business information. (trustworthiness)
Think about your readers first before thinking about ranking the content
This means that you must write articles that are natural and that you must communicate with your website’s users through your content. Avoid designing and writing an article just for the sake of ranking. The human element must be present in the content of your website.
Do not attempt to produce an article solely using the keywords you have found. Don’t try to write a sentence in a paragraph solely to include that keyword because you’d like to rank for it.
The spam-prevention system powered by Google AI, SpamBrain, is extremely intelligent and efficient at recognizing such items. Your articles will be deranked for being spam if they are discovered as such.
How helpful is your website?
When someone searches for information online and ends up on your website, Google expects that they will be satisfied with the information on your website. They should give up their search and don’t look for more details elsewhere. If this is the case, Google will give your website’s content a high ranking because it is deemed to be very beneficial.
Google will lower your website’s ranking if they find out that visitors to your site are unable to find the information they need and instead keep looking for more information. This signal shows that the reader still needs to conduct further research and find the information from other websites because your website did not provide them with the answers they were looking for.
Don’t exaggerate the Headings
Don’t exaggerate the titles and headings when writing content. Just be straightforward and precise. For a piece of content, titles are crucial. The title is what draws people to your website link and encourages them to read it. However, if your content is irrelevant to what your headline is about, the reader will become irritated and leave the website quickly. This signal to Google you’re your website falls short of expectations and will be dropped in rank.
Grammar and Content Structure
Do you know that grammatical errors also affect your website ranking? To produce a blog and achieve high Google rankings, you must have strong English language skills. Stylistic issues such as Sentence Structure, Punctuation and Double Spaces are also can be the cause of your articles not being ranked in Google Search Engines.
Google considers articles to be sloppily or hastily generated if they are just written to increase word counts and work around keywords. Therefore, concentrate on creating well-written, informative content.
Google, of course, also wants to make sure that your website looks good on mobile devices. Nowadays, Google places high importance on mobile-friendly websites because the majority of them browse the internet while on the go using their phones.
Conclusion
The most recent Google algorithm update is actually not that scary. They have improved their fairness and capacity for understanding. They want to make sure that only high-quality content is displayed. They do not want individuals to be deceived by spammers and scammers who write articles by playing around the keywords, solely to increase traffic and earn AdSense revenue.
You must make sure your blog is rated and receives organic traffic if you have made the decision to become a blogger and hope to make some money from Google Adsense. This can only be done by writing quality articles that adhere to Google’s search engine guidelines.
When you have some free time, take your time and slowly create an article. Avoid rushing and writing a poor article. Engage with your readers through your blog posts and website articles. Happy ranking and blogging!
